Have you got a pet that's a part of your family? Throughout my previous emails, you may have read that I have 4 dogs and a ginger cat, as well as a few fish and a bunny that sadly died last year.
We consider our pets to be a part of our family, so when they depart, it leaves a gaping hole in our hearts just like any loss of a loved one. At such a young age, my daughter experienced grief in her own way when our bunny, Snowy, died. It was the first time she had experienced the loss of someone she loved, and it was her first experience of grief. I sat with her to do what she loves most, drawing, and tried to comfort her by going through photos with her.
She asked if she could draw a picture of Snowy and have it inscribed on a charm that she could wear on her bracelet. After drawing Snowy, she wrote his name underneath. Her picture was inscribed on a charm and hung on her Forever in My Heart Bead Bracelet, which she wears wherever she goes to remember him always and forever.
This was a wonderful way for her to remember all the happy moments she had with Snowy as she and I laughed and reminisced about the moments in the photos. Whenever she feels that she misses Snowy, she holds on to her charm. She finds comfort in it, and it reminds her of his presence in her heart and in her memories.
You may know someone who needs some comfort or yourself, or you may know someone who just wants to keep their loved ones close wherever they are. If you do, this would be the perfect gift for them.
